Manga Lore ("the App") is operated by Yuki Taguchi ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the App collects, why, and what choices you have.
You can use Manga Lore without creating an account and without giving us your name, email address, or any other directly identifying information. We do not ask for your real identity at any point.
If you join our waitlist, the form is hosted by Google Forms and the email address you submit is stored in Google's service under your submission. We use it only to notify you at launch, and we delete the list once that notice has been sent.
Questions you ask. When you ask a question about a scene, we store the text of your question, the language it was written in, which series it relates to, how far you had read at the time, and which annotation answered it. We use this to decide which annotations to write next and to improve answer quality.
Your reading progress. The chapter you set for each series, so the App can hide annotations that would spoil what you have not read yet.
Your subscription status. Whether you have an active subscription, managed through RevenueCat and Apple. We never receive your full payment card details — Apple processes all payments.
Basic technical information. Device type, operating system version, App version, and crash reports.
Votes. Which unanswered questions and which series you have voted for.
We do not collect your name, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, or advertising identifiers. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers that follow you across other apps and websites.

Each of these processes data only to provide their service to us. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process your data on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating and improving the App, and on the basis of contract performance where processing is necessary to deliver a subscription you purchased.
Some of the services listed above are located outside the EEA. Where that is the case, transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard.
You may request access to the data associated with your device, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Because we do not hold identifying information, we may need you to provide the anonymous identifier shown in the App's Settings screen so we can locate your records.
If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, you additionally have the right to object to processing, to request restriction of processing, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. If you are in Brazil, you have equivalent rights under the LGPD. If you are in California, you have the rights described under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know and the right to delete. We do not sell personal information as that term is defined under California law.

Question logs are kept for as long as they remain useful for improving the annotation database. Reading progress and subscription status are kept while you use the App. If you ask us to delete your data, we do so within 30 days, except where we are required to retain transaction records for tax or accounting purposes.
Manga Lore is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we will delete it.
If we change this policy in a way that affects what we collect or how we use it, we will update the date at the top and note the change in the App.
